I found amusing the way the yellow lines shifted in this composition. We see very ordinary yellow traffic control lines, become a prominent factor in this Austin, TX street scene. The simple varied grey around the yellow lines make them jump. The cars look a little melted in the supposed afternoon heat. 8×8 inch, oil on canvas.

This piece was rendered from an image taken while traveling on the freeway. Before this moment, I don’t recall any particular significance in “Approaching Dallas”. The movement and extensive depth make it sing, the sense of being on the road is delivered. I plan to continue exploring captivating beauty within our, often, sped by urbanism.
